Bringing Sustainable Visions to Life
How I like to design
One of my core design passions is incorporating sustainable practices when creating new collections or pieces. I often do this by using repurposed materials to craft entirely new garments. My senior thesis collection, “I Just Had to Say HELLO,” is a fully repurposed collection. Repurposing differs from upcycling—none of the original garment structures were reused. Instead, I deconstructed old garments to create new fabrics, piecing them together to form completely new designs. Using 100% natural fabrics is also essential to my process, ensuring that each material is biodegradable and that as much of the original garment as possible is utilized.
